History

K12 Capstone’s first steps as company were taken in the fall of 2006. Over the past decade, the K12 Capstone experience has continued to change, expand and adapt to meet the needs of students across a variety of grade levels. The result; an expansive digital collection of over fifty documents and one hundred pages of scoped, sequenced and aligned inquiry based learning for students in primary and secondary education was launched in the Fall of 2017.

Kevin Luedtke has been teaching at a small middle school in Southeastern Wisconsin since 2006. He was originally brought on as part of his middle school team to create a capstone learning opportunity for eighth grade students as an exit assignment for students moving onto high school. Beyond creation of the K12 Capstone course, Kevin has also developed curriculum for other elective courses including: 6th-12th STEM courses, CAMS (Creative Writing, Audio, Media, Speaking), and an Introduction to Economics and Personal Finance for middle school students.

The classroom will always be Kevin Luedtke’s first passion.  However, beyond working directly with students, Kevin  has contributed as a team member to help bring EdCamp conferences to schools across Southeastern Wisconsin. He was part of a team of three teachers to complete the National Blue Ribbon application, which the school proudly earned in 2014. Recently, Kevin has started his own educational consulting company and has presented at various schools and universities across Wisconsin including: UW- Milwaukee, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout. You may have even seen Kevin present at the Wisconsin SLATE Education Conference in Wisconsin Dells.
